I thought it would be fun to do a post about a few of my essential fresh-life things; the blog is still new, and I want us to get to know each other better! Plus, I l-o-v-e reading these posts from my favourite bloggers. Don’t forget to tell me your favourites, too.

My Fresh Favourites

My Soda Stream Machine

I love my Soda Stream machine. It has helped me increase my water intake, cut down on canned diet pop, and my kids like it, too. Right now, I pop a slice of lime and some of my fresh mint from my planter into my cup, add ice cubes, and pour in the bubbly water. So freaking refreshing! Kind of like a mojito, but legal to drink while driving and calorie free.

Essential Oils

Essential oils are oh-so trendy right now, and for good reason:

  • scent a space without using synthetic chemicals
  • affect your mood with scent: uplift, relax, focus
  • use them topically (mixed with a carrier oil) for sore muscles, beauty routines, relaxation, etc.
  • diffusers are safer than candles with kids around, not to mention the potential toxins from cheap candles

Which oils are my favourite? So. Many. Maybe I should write a post about it?

Is a website a “thing”? Whether it is or not, if you haven’t signed up to Ebates yet, you need to. This magical website gives you CASH MONEY back every time you shop. For real. From 1% to 8% (or MORE!) at places I shop anyways, like Old Navy (kids clothes), Sephora (it may be a problem of mine), and even Nordstrom Rack (hello deals!).

Before I press “buy” on any online purchase, I check Ebates first. The browser extension even reminds me if a site I am on supports Ebates, because who doesn’t like cash? Every few months I get a surprise cheque in the mail for buying things I already was going to. Between my online-shopping-fiend husband and myself, we’ve got HUNDREDS of dollars over the past few years.

No, Ebates isn’t going to make you rich, but why not get a few bucks back here and there? It definitely adds up over time. If you aren’t already a member, sign up with MY LINK* to help a girl out, because they pay for referrals. So sign up for yourself, then tell your mom and make yourself some easy bucks shopping.

Riversol Skincare

I am a skincare bunny rabbit – I hop around trying new things and not committing to any one. Well, that is OVER, my friends. I signed up to get Riversol’s FREE 15 day sample, and now I am hooked. I went back and purchased four products right away, and I am in love. Why?

  • Fragrance Free. I want to smell like me, not my skincare products
  • Non Greasy. I have combination skin, and the products are super light feeling
  • It is locally based, and their customer service is freaking amazing.
  • IT WORKS. My skin is definitely more even-looking, and that says something, because I have been using $100+ creams and serums for awhile. Riversol is less expensive, lasts longer (you only use a tiny bit), and my skin looks fantastic. This is one of those times I wished I had a before and after photo.

If you want to try Riversol, get on it – I don’t know how much longer they are doing the free 15 day trial; and, if I have convinced you, (I use their moisturizer, serum, eye cream and sunscreen), use THIS LINK* to get $20 off your first purchase. Whoo!

My Garden

Okay, so this isn’t really something you can go out and buy… But I find incredible peace and happiness in my yard. Yes, even when Big A and Little A are screaming at each other that they had the ball first.

We moved into our house four years ago, and the yard was a flat, weed-infested mess. Thanks to my handy husband, our yard is a great place to be; we have hummingbirds, green space, and I even grow food sometimes.

Food I grew

Time spent in nature truly is my happy, grounding place. I can tune out the worries of every day as I check on my blueberry bushes, watch the birds in the birdbath, and the kids chase butterflies. I I am (slowly) learning to be in the moment. It has taken me awhile to stop seeing my next project, and revel in what is there right now. If you need some strategies to relax more when you are outside, I have some simple strategies that only take five minutes to do.

There you go – my five favourite things I can’t live without right now. How about you? What awesome finds are you loving that we should know about?
